Living in the Shadow of The Wall

Workers wait for 7am at Tayba Checkpoint. The checkpoint opens at 4am for workers crossing into Israel, but many people are given permits that only allow them to enter at 7am. If you are the first in line, you might get through in 10 minutes, but if you are the last it will take closer to 2 hours. The workers therefore come very early and wait in the queue from around 5am. Living in the Shadow of The Wall 3 months in the West Bank town of Tulkarm with The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel. (EAPPI)

EAPPI brings internationals to the West Bank to experience life under occupation. Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) provide protective presence to vulnerable communities, monitor and report human rights abuses and support Palestinians and Israelis working together for peace and carrying out advocacy work.
